Frequently Asked Questions

1. Online Campaigns

Does using Adwords improve my position of my website within the normal Google Search?

No, advertising with Google has no effect on your site's (organic) Google ranking. However, the process of creating an effective Adwords campaign will undoubtedly focus your attention on how you site performs, and by analysing the results of your ads, we can draw attention to possible changes to your website that will improve sales/conversions.

Can Web adverts send people to a page other than my home page?

Yes, and it is often recommended not to use your home page as your landing page (that's the page your web advertisement directs your potential customers to).

I want to advertise only to people in my local area? Can I do this?

Yes, Google utilises some pretty advanced technologies, and they know more or less where each person conducting a search lives. You can specify very exact target areas for your campaign. For example you could specify an area of within (say) ten miles of a specific address, or maybe a collection of towns dotted around the country. If you were selling a book in Welsh say, you may on want to target Wales - this is all possible.

To which languages and countries can I target my ads?

Adwords can be targeted to any of 14 different languages and/or to more than 250 countries.

I'm a small businessman, and this is all new to me, but I want to try things out. Can I budget say £200.00 on a local campaign and test the waters?

Yes, and unlike print advertising, we will provide detailed feedback so you can see exactly how well your ad is performing. Web advertising lets you set a daily advertising budget – whether it is £5 per day or £500 per day, you still get feedback as to how your ad performs, and you can see if the ad is working for you.

Can I advertise anything online?

Pretty much so, but there are the usual limitations on the grounds of decency etc. In addition, there are certain Trade Mark Policies which prevents advertisers infringing other people's trade marks. If this is a potential problem we can help sort this out for you.

2. Our Service

Why only businesses in Hampshire and West Sussex?

To ensure you get the best results, we need to understand what you are hoping to achieve and a fair bit about your business. We find we can only do this if we can meet up with you, and at present for reasons of cost and time we are limiting our potential clients more or less to these two counties.

How do I know you know what you are doing?

If you click on the Google Qualified Individual logo (top left) you are taken to the Google Website where all is explained. We've been running online campaigns for nearly ten years, and although we are constantly discovering new techniques and methods, we do reckon we know what we are doing.
